	Fixed Steel Commercial Ladders When workers are climbing large structures such as bridges, buildings, or grain silos, it is necessary for them to use fixed commercial ladders that are engineered to remain firmly in place without any horizontal movement that could lead to a slip or fall.  OSHA guidelines are very strict when it comes to the manufacture of these ladders.  Fixed steel ladders can be manufactured from three types of steel: powder coated, hot dipped galvanized, or stainless.  Modular units can also be made that will break down for easier storage when the ladder is not in use.  In modular ladders, every segment measures between 6-7 feet, which makes it very easy to transport and setup the ladder in new locations.  Ladders can also be made with cages at the top.  Some are made for hatchway or sidestep access, while other have extended landing decks with handrails on either side.  Cages can also be purchased and added to existing fixed ladders when applications call for extra protection at heights between 10-30’
