Who doesn't like a nice stroll or a bird-feeding jaunt in the park? Whether you're there to take a walk in the woods, or to root on your kids at their little league game, park benches are a welcome addition for a lot of people. What better way to enjoy the day at a park, or enjoy the landscaping in your back yard than park benches? That way you can sit and rest, without wondering if you're ruining your clothes by sitting in the dirt or grass.
Park benches come in loads of different designs and colors, and many different materials. Perhaps you want a traditional looking wrought iron or wooden park bench. Maybe you're looking for a greener option, utilizing recycled materials, or maybe you're looking to find the heaviest duty park benches you can turn up, in order to withstand heavy use. Will there be small children using your benches? Will there be small children mistreating the benches? Will the benches see a lot of use? Will the benches be out year-round, or just in nicer weather? These are all things to consider when you're considering park benches.
Some park benches are designed to surround a tree. Some benches are designed with backs and some are designed without backs, and your benches may or may not have arm rests. Some park benches are designed with individual seats, determined by the arm rests throughout the bench, rather than just at the bench ends.
There are benches made of powder-coated steel. There are benches made of recycled materials. Wooden park benches can be stained or painted, or left as they are, to weather the elements. There are benches that are stand-alone, and those that are designed to go along with a picnic table.
There are handicapped-accessible park benches as well. These may be designed mostly like typical park benches, but have an addition. They may be designed with a full length grab bar across the back of the bench, in order to best facilitate transfer to and from the bench.
Certain benches are designed to be able to offer a custom message on the bench itself. Other options may include plaques and signs. This may be a terrific option to consider if you're working on the landscaping or planning of a memorial park, or just want to help deter theft by labeling the benches with the park's name.
Some park benches are attached to the ground in some way, either cemented in or possibly chained at the bench legs. This is usually to deter theft, although in some cases there may be some reason to want to be able to move the bench. There are portable bench options for these circumstances. This way, you can store the benches in cold weather, and only have them out in warm weather, or you can move them around for different purposes. Maybe your park does theater in the park programs, or you have nature classes of some sort. Portable benches, even if temporarily attached to the ground, would be a great thing to help suit those needs.
