When you go to the park, it's awfully nice to have something available to sit on besides the ground.  Sure the ground can be fine to sit on, but if it's wet or there are a lot of visiting geese, you may be very thankful for some available park furniture. Sometimes, Grandma or Grandpa might be with you, as well, and this way they don't have to sit on the ground or try to stand up from sitting on the ground, when it's time to go.  In these ways park furniture can be a real benefit, and a strong selling point to pick your location to visit over another location that might not have nice seating available.

There are, of course, different types of park furniture available.  There are picnic tables with or without attached benches, and there are park benches with or without attached picnic tables! The park furniture can come in different colors and different materials. There are several options of park furniture building materials, as well.  Traditionally, the picnic tables you might see at a park would often tend to be made of wood, but today there are other options, including metal and even recycled materials.   Even the same basic style of park furniture can have differences, and you can pick your favorite, or according to your needs.  If you want to purchase a picnic table with attached seating, have you decided if you want a square picnic table, or a rounded one?  There are commercial benches that are designed with arm rests in the middle, rather than just the ends, so that it seems divided more into seats than like a bench.  You may prefer this option to give people more delineated seating spaces, or you may prefer a outdoor bench that has no middle arm rests, or perhaps even no end arm rests.  You can choose between benches with backs and benches without backs.  There are also handicapped-accessible picnic tables, where the table is longer than the seating length, so that you can wheel a wheelchair right up to the table.

Park furniture like benches can be fun and funky, or be designed in a more classic, traditional, formal looking design.  Some designs may remind you of more formal looking wrought iron designs.  Of course some manufacturers of park furniture will let you design your own furniture, and maybe you have just the right idea for a combination of fun and funky, and formal traditional.  Pick your design and your color options, and be on your way!

Park furniture may also include such things as planters and commercial trash-garbage cans. These can stand alone, or be designed into a design with seating.  Having garbage cans around your park would seem to make it much more likely for people to pick up after themselves, instead of just leaving their trash behind them.  Of course, you're always going to have people who will leave their trash around, but having the trash bins may at least encourage them to clean up their own messes, instead of leaving it for others.
