End Accessible Picnic

• Models UT (1-5/8" OD) and XT (2-3/8" OD) park table frames can be used to create wheelchair accessible picnic tables. These picnic tables offer 30" nom. table height; 18" nom. seat height.

• Top is extended 2 ft. beyond seats on one or both ends. Provides ADA recommended wheelchair clearances of 30" wide, 27" under table (ground to bottom of table top), and 24" total knee and toe clearances (19" knee + 5" toe). Extended top is supported by a special diagonal brace and steel channel.

• Available lengths: 6 ft. seats and 8 ft. top (extended on one end) available with all top/seat material choices. 6 ft. seats and 10 ft. top (extended on both ends) or 8 ft. seats and 10 ft. top (extended on one end) available with lumber or aluminum.

Raised Top, End Accessible Picnic Tables:

• Models UTH (1-5/8" OD) and XTH (2-3/8" OD) are designed to provide more clearance under the picnic table top to allow most wheelchair armrests to fit under it for a closer approach. Higher frames provide an under table clearance of 30". Other table specifications same as UT and XT. (See Heavy Duty UT Series table.) (See also Extra Heavy Duty XT Series table.)

Side Accessible Picnic Tables:

• Models UT (1-5/8" OD) and XT (2-3/8" OD) table frames can be used. These picnic tables offer 30" nom. table height; 18" nom. seat height.

• Side Access Tables take out a section of seating along side of table to provide wheelchair access right in the middle of activities.

• 6 ft. and 8 ft. picnic tables provide one side opening. Two one-person seats are located on either side of wheelchair. These tables can comfortably seat 6 to 7 people.

• 10 and 12 ft. picnic tables feature two locations for wheelchairs, diagonally opposite each other. Current ADA guidelines recommend two wheelchair spaces on these larger tables. Each side includes a shorter one-person seat plus a longer seat to fit 3-4 persons. These picnic tables can comfortably seat 10 to 12 people.

• Diagonal braces are used to support and reinforce the table structure. Brace positioning allows wheelchair spaces to meet current ADA clearance guidelines of 30" wide, 27" under table (ground to bottom of table top), and 24" total knee and toe clearances (19" knee + 5" toe).

• Materials available: lumber or aluminum.
